About the Summit

The Youth Sports Safety Summit (YSSS) is an annual event hosted by the Youth Sports Safety Alliance (YSSA) and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) to educate key stakeholders about current issues in youth sports safety and effective measures to keep young athletes safe.

Attendees should anticipate a full day of education from leaders in sports safety. Each year’s summit focuses on current issues and activities in youth sports safety, as well as the latest scientific information. Attendees will also have ample opportunities to network with allied associations, policy makers and health care providers.

The 2017 Youth Sports Safety Summit, “Less Risk, More Reward: Emphasizing Safety and Encouraging Success” will help attendees learn from medical experts about the pre-existing conditions and practice habits that a can put your athletes at greater risks for conditions such as sudden cardiac arrest, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), or heat stroke. Not only will attendees walk away with this knowledge, but they will also be given the case studies and resources they need to mitigate the risks associated with these and other conditions.
